The best screen is not simply the largest fabric that fits the wall. Finished dimensions, projector ratio, attachment style and safe clearance must work together.
Finished size versus viewable area
Measure the opening and confirm whether the quoted size includes the reinforced border. The visible image area will usually be smaller than the finished textile dimensions.
Choose an aspect ratio
Common choices include 4:3, 16:9 and 16:10. Match the screen ratio to the projector and available room width instead of stretching the image.
Select an edge treatment
Grommets work with ball bungees, hook-and-loop edges create a clean attachment, and custom combinations can suit existing frames. Avoid hard exposed hardware in likely ball paths.
Plan tension and rear clearance
A screen needs enough tension for a useful image without behaving like a trampoline. Leave clearance behind it according to the final material and installation design.
Control light
Dark side and ceiling fabric reduces reflected room light and can noticeably improve perceived image contrast.
